Slack + Grip OS

Slack is the default communication hub for engineering teams. Grip OS connects to Slack through incoming webhooks and fleet batch operations, letting you send notifications, post status updates, and receive alerts without opening the Slack app. Set up channel-specific webhooks for different alert types — security events to #security, deploy notifications to #engineering, fleet health to #ops. The integration is lightweight and does not require a full Slack app installation.

How to Connect Slack

1

Create an Incoming Webhook in your Slack workspace at api.slack.com/apps.

2

Copy the webhook URL for the channel you want to target.

3

Open Grip Station > Settings > Integrations > Slack.

4

Paste the webhook URL and give the channel a label.

5

Test with a sample message to verify delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Grip OS read Slack messages?
No. The integration is outbound-only via webhooks. Grip OS sends notifications to Slack but does not read or index your messages.
Can I send to multiple Slack channels?
Yes. Configure multiple webhook URLs in the integration settings, each mapped to a different channel and alert type.
Is there a full Slack bot integration?
Currently, Grip OS uses incoming webhooks for simplicity. A full Slack bot with bidirectional messaging is on the roadmap.
