SSH + Grip OS

SSH is the backbone of Grip OS fleet management. Connect to remote machines, execute commands across your fleet in parallel, monitor health metrics, and transfer files — all from the command bar. The fleet system supports named machines with capability profiles, automatic workload distribution, and batch operations with git worktree isolation. Whether you manage two machines or twenty, SSH fleet tools turn distributed operations into single-command workflows.

How to Connect SSH

1

Ensure SSH keys are configured in ~/.ssh/ for your target machines.

2

Add machines to the fleet config via Grip Station > Fleet > Add Machine.

3

Verify connectivity with a fleet health check.

4

Configure SSH aliases in ~/.ssh/config for convenience (optional).

Frequently Asked Questions

How many machines can I add to the fleet?
There is no hard limit. The free tier supports up to 3 machines. Pro and Enterprise tiers support unlimited fleet machines.
Does Grip OS manage SSH keys?
Grip OS uses your existing SSH keys from ~/.ssh/. It does not create or manage SSH keys on your behalf for security reasons.
Can I run commands on all machines at once?
Yes. Fleet batch execution runs commands in parallel across all targeted machines with automatic result collection.
